Practicing good SEO techniques requires several skills and knowledge in a lot of areas. However, the basis of all SEO practices is keyword research. Do it right and you are on your way to a successful venture. Do it wrong, and you are fighting an uphill, often unwinnable battle. There are some keyword research services online that can do the dirty work for you. Some are high quality and some are low. All, however, are expensive. And the expense is an unnecessary one. You can simply and easily do it yourself if you know what to look for.
The first thing to determine is what you are trying to accomplish. Are you going to be using the keywords you find to do some article marketing? Will you be doing pay per click advertising? Are you looking for a good domain name? The numbers that will fit your needs will vary depending on what your goal or project actually is.
In basic terms, the higher the number of searches and the lower the number of competing websites is, the more valuable the keyword or keyword phrase is. There are several tools you can use to help in your research process. Some are free, some charge a one time fee.
The best free tool out there is the Google keyword tool. Not only can you get information on the number of searches a certain word or phrase garners, you can also find out how stiff the competition is. Plus, this free tool will give you an idea of what you can expect to pay for a pay per click campaign.
So you want to install a sump pump yourself? Fantastic! You'll be saving a lot of money! At least, for the first month or two! But before you decide to take this route, consider the chore you're about to take on.
Selecting the Best Sump Pump
Before you install your sump pump, you'll need to decide if you want a cast iron sump pump or a plastic one. Balance out whether or not the money saved on a plastic pump is worth the risk of a flooded basement. A variety of sump pumps are available, and whether you decide on a submersible, water-powered, floor sucker, or pedastal/stand sump pump for your basement and which brand name you choose will decide whether or not your basement floods.
Sump Pump Options
No sump pump is an island. There are numerous options that can make or break the sump pump installation. The size of the sump pump must fit the job- a pump that's too large or too small (and is overwhelmed) for the work is going to fail to keep the basement dry. When sump pumps are too large, they remove water faster than it fills the sump pit, causing them to turn on and off repeatedly and shortening their life. Additionally, your sump pump pit must be large enough for the pump or it will short cycle, or run continuously, which can also potentially shorten its life. Other sump pump installation questions include the following:
How will I keep my sump pump from clogging on the bottom of the sump pit? How will I know where the lowest part of the basement is so I can install my pump there? What will I do if my basement has two low spots? How will I know if my sump pump fails? Who do I call for help if my sump pump fails? How will I know if my sump pump isn't strong enough to keep up with a heavy storm?
Sump Pump Woes
Unless you find a sump pump product with an airtight, soundproof lid, you're going to have an ugly, exposed, potentially dangerous, and loud sump pump pit lurking in your basement area. Odors and humidity can freely pass into the home year-round, and the entire house will be less comfortable and energy-efficient.
Beware of sump pump companies that offer warranties that last for too many years. They convince you to choose their product by offering free replacements if the pump fails. Unfortunately, you won't know when it's time to cash in on that warranty until the pump fails and your basement floods! When it does, you may be paying straight out of your pocket to clean it up, as many insurance companies will not cover groundwater flooding. Floods are expensive, damaging to your property, and the first stage in basement mold problems.
Your discharge line can also be a problem. Make sure that your sump pump isn't pushing more water into the discharge pipe than it can hold and that your discharge pipe doesn't freeze in the winter, causing the sump pump to back up. As a final precaution, you'll need to be sure that you're not discharging the water straight into the next yard, or you'll have them to deal with angry neighbors as well!
What will you do if the power goes out? If you plan on using a generator to power your sump pump, you'll need to be there, or the basement will flood. Cheap do-it-yourself batteries aren't the answer either- they often run down sitting on the basement floor, and their charge is rarely strong enough to pump enough water out to keep the basement from flooding.
Installing a sump pump is back-breaking work! It will take a single person many days to install a sump pump and perimeter drain. And if you don't have access to a jackhammer, it'll be even more work! You'll have cement and dirt to remove from the basement, dust to deal with, and an exhausting and sometimes frustrating job on your hands. And if you don't have a jackhammer, how do you plan to break through the floor?
To make matters worse, many sump pump installations are done illegally or against building code ordinances. If you're planning on a do-it-yourself sump pump installation, make sure that you check with local building ordinances first. Otherwise, you might find yourself facing fines and legal hassles.

Whether you know it or not, SEO can be a time consuming process, especially if you involve yourself in all aspects of the process itself. So the question I am going to put forth in this article is a simple one. When doing SEO for your site, should you do it yourself or should you outsource the work? Well, the answer I'm going to give you just might surprise you. Keep on reading to find out just how I feel about this subject.
I will be the first to admit that I am no SEO expert...not by a long shot. However, I do know all the basics and can get a site up the SERPs pretty quickly, if not in record time. I do know that to do everything you need to do to properly SEO your site, it is a lot of work and very time consuming. Let me give you one example of what I'm talking about. Let's tackle social bookmarking.
For starters, most people go about doing this all wrong. See, your typical marketer will go to a social bookmarking site, like Digg, and only bookmark his own sites. This is not the way to get the most juice out of your efforts. You need to actually become a part of the community, which means filling in ALL your details and actually bookmarking other things of interest that are NOT your own site. In fact, you should bookmark more things that AREN'T your own site than your site itself. THAT is how to properly use social bookmarking.
Unfortunately, this is VERY time consuming as you can imagine, especially since you should be doing this for a minimum of 25 sites. I recommend between 50 and 100. Think about how much time this takes. It's almost mind numbing. So you would therefore think that I would immediately recommend that you outsource things like this. Well, that's where you'd be WRONG...at least not to start. But why? Why am I suggesting that you do this yourself?
By doing this yourself, you actually learn the process and understand it. That way, if down the road you decide to outsource, you can tell the person exactly what you want done and how. Sometimes by leaving things in the hands of an the person you hire, you can end up getting banned from these sites because they end up doing nothing but spamming the bookmarking sites. That's why, something like this, you want to be hands on...at least at the start.
Each aspect of SEO needs to be taken on a case by case basis. Some things are simple enough that they can be outsourced with very little chance of a screw up. But even those items should be done by you at first so that you understand how they work. This way, if the person you outsource to fouls things up, you'll know.
Anyway, there you have it. Outsourcing is not a cut and dried proposition for SEO. But in any case, I do recommend that you learn to do it yourself FIRST.
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of home made wines is grapes. How can we not associate wine with grapes when all you see on the shelves of liquor stores are countless wines produced by Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and other types of grapes? There are, however, other fruits that can make a great wine. Since home making wine has become a popular hobby it has become more and more inexpensive and easy to make a creative wine all on your own. These wines can be made of affordable fresh fruits possibly from your own backyard. No matter where you live in the world, you are a short walk or car ride away from edible plants, berries and fruits which can easily make a great tasting creative wine. Many plants bear fruit that can be made into a delicious wine to suit your individual taste.
The list of fruits which can be used to make creative home wines is endless. To get a small taste of suitable, inexpensive fruits, you can choose from strawberries, watermelons, peaches, blackberries, plums, grapefruits, pears and pineapples to name just a few. To further assist you in your creative home wine making, I have compiled a list of very inexpensive, creative fruits and other surprising foods that can be made into wines that will leave you wanting more and more. Some of these will be quite shocking for you to see in the context of wine. However, they are assured to be delicious. Almonds, apple cider, apricots, bananas, carrots, cherries, cranberries, dates, figs, garlic, ginger, honeysuckle, jelly, kiwi, mint, melons, onions, pea pods, pumpkin, raspberries, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, watermelons and zucchinis are some suggestions to tasty, inexpensive yet creative wines that can be made at home. As with any wine, you must first evaluate the fruit. A wine is only as good as the fruit used to make it. To achieve the most superior wine, carefully choose each piece of fruit used. Be sure that molds and bruises are minimal. You should also thoroughly clean the fruit before crushing it. It is best to use fruits that are fully ripe. When attempting to use a fruit before it is fully ripe, it has a tendency to take away from the taste and richness of the wine.
Fruit wines are usually diluted with water before starting the wine making process. This is done because many fruits are very strong in flavor or too high in acid. This would greatly affect the outcome of the wine’s taste.
Some other great examples of inexpensive yet creative wines are Dandelion Wine, Crabapple Wine and Tea Wine. Although cultivated for food, herbs and tea for long periods of time, most Americans see dandelions as weeds and look to remove them from their gardens. However, the flower petals on dandelions can be used to make wine. Dandelion wine is typically a light wine with little body. When using dandelions to make wine, pick the flowers just before starting to make the wine, to assure freshness. There are different forms of dandelion wine, one recipe is as follows: 2 qts dandelion flowers, 3 lbs granulated sugar 4 oranges, 1 gallon water, yeast and nutrient. Dandelion wine is well suited to make into a sparkling wine.
Crabapple wine is another option for an inexpensive, creative wine that can be made by yourself. You can leave the peeling on the apples, but should remove the seeds. As always, thoroughly wash the fruit. A recipe for crabapple wine is 4lbs ripe crabapples, 2 lbs granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp tannin, ½ tsp acid blend, ½ tsp peetie enzyme, 1 tsp yeast nutrient 7 ½ pts water, 1 crushed Campden tablet and champagne wine yeast.
Yet another affordable wine that can be made at home is tea wine. You can use a variety of teas, such as black tea or green tea. The recipe for black tea wine calls for 4 tablespoons bulk black tea, 1 11oz can frozen red or white grape concentrate, 2 lbs sugar, 2 tsp citric acid, 6 pts water, 1 tsp yeast nutrient, 1 pkt wine yeast.
Regardless of what type of wine you choose to make, be creative and have fun. Don’t be afraid to try new things. By making your own wine at home can possibly create a new and delicious wine that will dazzle you and your friends.
We all fantasize about receiving luxury spa treatment once in a while but that's not always reality. Of course that doesn't mean that you can't experience spa services in the privacy and comfort of your own home. There are plenty of great ways to do it yourself. So maybe you don't have a masseuse and a mud bath facility but a rejuvenating facial once or twice a week is easy and fabulous for maintaining healthy, glowing skin. Facial kits and creams can be found at your local drugstore or you can make your own using ingredients found at home. Don't feel pressured into high priced products or services if you can't afford it. There are other ways that work just as well.
Knowing your skin is essential. The type of thing that works well for dry skin won't have the same effect on oily skin. A clay mask is usually applied for those with oily skin. Buy one ready made or look up an easy at home recipe online. There are many sites dedicated to providing this type of information. Don't hesitate to utilize the resources at your fingertips. People suffering from dry and itchy skin should look into cream facials that offer moisturizing benefits. If you purchase facial scrubs or masks, always take care to read and follow the directions thoroughly. It's also a good idea to do a small allergy test on a portion of skin before applying it to your entire face. That's the last place anyone wants to have a bad reaction break out.
Steam is a required part of any facial. Run hot water in the sink or turn the shower on hot and let the bathroom fill with steam. It's excellent for opening up the pores. When your pores are open it's much easier to cleanse oils from your skin. Not only is it great for cleansing but it feels amazing. Creating a mini sauna in your bathroom can be as good as the real thing.
Once you've selected the facial mask and applied it successfully, it's important to leave it on for about fifteen minutes. If you want to throw a couple of cucumber slices on your eyes and kick back in a lounge chair, by all means do so. Though you may want to avoid falling asleep and waking up with a dried mask. Rinse it thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Alternatives to store bought facials range among everything from berry juice to bananas. The classic recipe of oatmeal and egg whites is no longer the only choice. Many foods are high in vitamins and minerals that are good for your skin.
An at home facial can be done once or twice a week for a healthy glow. If you have problem skin then you may need to do it more or less, depending on your personal needs. A do it yourself facial is a great way to get the benefits of the spa without having to pay the price that goes along with it. There's no reason for anyone to miss out on soft, pampered skin.

When it comes time to clean your carpet the best option is to hire a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner to do the job. They after all have the right equipment and skills to get the job done. If you must do it yourself however there are some things you can do to get the job done right. Read this article for some useful tips.
The first tip which most people do not do is to vacuum thoroughly. This is important with any carpet cleaning but even more so if you are using rental equipment which is not as strong as commercial quality machines. Take your time and do a thorough vacuuming because up to 80 percent of the soil in your home is dry and can be removed with a good vacuuming. The average five room house should take you about forty five minutes to vacuum if you are doing it right. The next tip is to not get the carpet too wet.
If you over wet the carpet it will take forever to dry and you will run the risk of forcing stains down where they can late wick back to the surface. Be sure to make extra drying passes with the machine to get as much of the water out as possible. Yet another tip is to not use too much shampoo. This will just lead to rapid re-soiling so use it sparingly and apply it separately. Use the machine filled with plain water to rinse the carpet. The last tip is to dry the carpet as soon as possible. Use your air conditioning as a dehumidifier and set it at a reasonable temperature. Also turn on all of your ceiling fans and use any floor fans that you might have. If the carpet cleaner rental store also rents fans, consider renting a professional quality fan which will greatly speed up the drying.
That is it. it is that simple. Follow these tips and you are much more likely to produce a satisfactory job. Remember, carpet cleaning is a lot of work and you might not save as much money as you think doing it yourself so you should consider hiring a pro. Good luck.
First, let's start with the basics of on page search engine optimization. You need to make sure that the keywords you are targeting are correct. For instance, if you're selling custom embroidered scarves, we wouldn't want to target just the word "scarf" or "scarves", these words will have too much competition and will be virtually impossible to rank highly for. Instead, target your keywords. Appropriate keyword phrases might be "custom scarves", "embroidered scarf" and the many variations thereof. Almost always you will find dozens or even hundreds of appropriate, highly targeted phrases for whatever you're selling.
For further refinement of your keyword list, I recommend using tools at Nichebot.com and Wordtracker.com. Both are excellent and will help you find additional keywords to target that will bring traffic to your site but are also realistic.
Once we have a keyword list, we need to add these keywords to your site. The most important places to add keywords are to your body text, in natural language, not keywords stuffed in randomly, and to the title of your pages. The page title is extremely important to all the search engines, it should contain your company name and also a couple of your most important keyword phrases. However, other places you can add keywords are to the alternate text of images (one short phrase only), anchor text (this is the text that appears in your links) and meta-tags. Meta-tags have much less importance than they used to, but some search engines do still read them. You can also add keywords to any page names if you are adding new pages, so if you are adding a new product line, maybe customized aprons, then the page file name can be "customized-aprons.htm". Add keywords to every page of your site, but don't stuff them in randomly. Also, the main page of your site is the most important page, make sure you have added your most important keyword phrases to this page in the page title and body text. There is much more to on page search engine optimization, but these are the basics and should be sufficient for most websites.
Next, we begin promotion. Many people think that submitting to thousands of search engines should be the first step. Wrong! There aren't thousands of search engines and the only ones that matter are the ones you've heard of, like Google, MSN and Yahoo. There's not even a need to submit to these search engines anyway, it's best to let them find your site via a link. And so we begin the second and probably most important part of search engine optimization, which is link building. The key to link building is not quantity of links, but quality of links. You want links to your site from other websites that have a good reputation and are highly targeted to your content. So, if your site sells vintage postcards, then appropriate links you should be concerned about getting should be from antique and collectible directories, other antique and collectible stores (not direct competitors though), antique and collectible forums and ephemera related sites. You can get some idea of the quality of a link by looking at the Google Pagerank. The higher the Pagerank, the better the link, usually.
Here are the best ways to get links:
Write Articles! You don't have to be an author to write a good, informative article. Write an article from 400 - 700 words and distribute it to the largest article directories like Goarticles.com, EzineArticles.com and Articlecity.com. They will post your article to their site and make it available to the millions of website owners, ezine editors, bloggers and other publishers for use in their publications. When your article is used, your bio must be included, and of course, you added a link to your site in your bio, right? This results in dozens, even hundreds or sometimes thousands of completely free and often related, one way, incoming links to your site. The search engines love them!
Submit To Directories! There are hundreds of directories out there that will give you a link for free. Find a list at Info.vilesilencer.com along with information on how best to submit to these directories for maximum effectiveness. If you do have some promotion budget, consider paying for listing on the major directories like Yahoo Directory, Business.com or any niche directories that don't offer free submissions. These are considered very high quality links to search engines.
There are many other ways to build your links, from posting on niche forums and community sites, to blogging, to exchanging links, to press releases and more. Link building should be an ongoing process. Take it slow and steady and focus on gaining the highest quality links possible instead of the greatest number possible. Search engines love HIGH QUALITY links to your site and this is absolutely the key to getting more visitors.
In the modern economy, there are many forces at work that are making people look for other work, new jobs, or alternate income. One of the pathways to a new situation is by becoming part of the new and growing Internet e-commerce industry.
Sell Products to Internet Surfers
One method involves selling products to the millions of Internet surfers. You could sell your own products, but most likely you will find success by selling the products of others. You can make a commission that varies between 2 and 75 percent, depending on what product you are selling.
How you go about this requires work and creativity, as any successful business does. It's not a get rich quick scheme.
If you have a lot of resources, tens of thousands of dollars, your pathway is different from that of someone entering the market with very low resources.
How to Sell Products on a Small Budget
Let's discuss the low budget person because that describes most of us. To get into e-commerce on a budget or with very few resources, the competition is great and you must be knowledgeable and skilled to be successful. You have to learn from others, because trial and error learning is expensive.
It is generally unsuccessful to simply put ads for a product on a new website and expect them to create a cash flow. You have too little traffic to matter. The rate at which casual visitors click on ads is very low and the rate at which those who click then go on to purchase the product is also very low. We are talking about rates as low as 0.001 percent. You need thousands of visitors to have any sales. But remember, most of that traffic is casual and not highly interested in buying the product when they first arrive.
How to Get Visitors Who Will Purchase Your Products
There are ways to get traffic that is more interested in your product. One is by directly advertising using a service like Google Adwords to send interested people to your website or that of the vendor. But you have to deliver very targeted traffic to have a good rate of conversion. And that means your ads have to be written to attract buyers and to not attract casual surfers.
You can do this by advertising and sending people directly to the site - or you can have a site of your own and send those people to your own site. This is called a Pre-sell Landing Page. Setting up a landing page or website takes work but probably much less than you expect. You can build a website yourself using freely available information.
When the interested person comes to your web page, your goal is to prepare them and sell them on the product. Success at this operation is a numbers game. It usually costs money to advertise to get people's interest. For example, it might cost 20 cents to get a person to your website or to send them to the vendor's website. Then out of 100 people that you send, only 1 to 5 will actually do something like buy a product or sign up for an offer. Therefore, you've paid for a lot of people that did not lead to a successful sale. So you have to keep the cost low and the profit high in order to be successful. Many people spend too much money advertising for the wrong people and wind up spending more money on ads than they make selling a product. So you have to know what you're doing, and there are many sources of information on how to do this correctly.
You didn't plan to use the bottle of Appliance Paint so soon but you had to get the new Island into the kitchen some way and it being so heavy you decided to use the dolly. Well how could you know that the axel stuck out and was in the wrong place at the wrong time and scratch! A big unsightly dig in the paint. Now you got to repair it and you're just glad that you have the paint to do it with. Most new appliances come with a bottle of touch up appliance paint. So here you go.
Most of us have had similar situations that have been cause for panic. Fortunately someone had the background to know that things like that happen and you're on the road again.
Now what if you didn't have the bottle of touch up paint? What would you do then? Well you could go to your appliance store where you got the unit and you might be able to find just the right thing. One of the other places to look is good old Amazon or Nextag.com. Both have spray or brush bottles and the prices range from below $5.00 to over $20.00.
If it's just a little scratch or chip the bottle with the brush will fit the bill just right. A bigger scrap may need to be taken care of with a spray can. Because the mark is probably on the front cover you may be able to take that part off if you can find the screws that attach it. If it has electrical connections, such as switches and gauges you may need to unplug them. If that is the case MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE UNIT FROM THE WALL PLUG! A little 110 volts and a little water and a bare finger could make the next meal unnecessary. Please Safety first!
After you unplug and remove the panel you can take it in the garage and do the prep work, such as remove handles and chrome trim and start to mask off areas that you don't want painted. Then you can clean the surface and start to put a light coat of paint on. Several (3 or 4) light coats are a lot better than one heavy coat. Just make sure you let the paint dry between coats.
As soon as the last coat is dry pull the masking tape off at a right angle to the surface so it doesn't pull the paint of with it. If you let the paint set up for a day or two you may want to use a razor blade to cut the paint at the edge of the tape. Just be careful! It's sharp.
Now take your time and re-assemble the panel to the appliance and install the handles and gauges and whatever you took off. Remember, you don't get points for extra parts left in the garage.
Now stand back and look. If everything went well you won't be able to tell where the old paint stops and the new begins. Also remember, you know where all the marks were and even if you can see them just a little bit nobody else will be able to. I'll bet that you won't be able to see the difference because the new appliance paint is very good and blending.
